Internet connection sharing - Setup
I have just installed Fedora, my first Linux installing in years.
I have the Linux box networked to my Windows XP box. The XP box has Internet Connection Sharing enabled and its NIC is configured to 192.168.0.1. Other windows machine on my network specify this IP as their gateway and they are able to access the net. So far so good.
I setup the NIC in the Linux box to a free (on my network) IP address 192.168.0.55 and also gave it the gateway of the XP box... 192.168.0.1.
Alas, it cannot see the net.
If I 'ping' either box from the other, it works and the machines can see one another.
Mind you, once I work out how to get my USB adsl modem installed on the Linux box, it will become the gateway. But until that time, I'd like to get it connected via the XP box. Is this possible?
