Internet Connection Sharing Between Two Mandriva 2006 Machines

I have a Mandriva 2006 box in one room of my house that gets its connection over my wireless network. I want to share that connection with my other Mandriva 2006 machine though an ethernet cable directly connecting the two. I ran this process through the built in wizard from the control center, but when I try to get it running on the machine receiving the connection, it says "Determining IP information for eth0... failed". What should I do?

Update: I solved the problem by connecting to a router in stead of directly to the other machine, but now it just says it won't resolve the host or something like that whenever I try to actually do antything online, even though it says it works in the network monitor.

The little icon in the system tray shows as connected, but the full network monitor says it can't connect, and that I should fix something in the control center. In regards to the post above, I have no idea how I would go about doing that. My resolv.conf just says "nameserver (router's address)"
