Buy a cheap system (or retask an old machine), install Linux, setup a RAID1 mirror, and place it at a friend or family members home. Rsync over SSH to that machine for backup. I suggest performing the initial rsync locally, to save the time and bandwidth.
The distance to the nearest such location (friend or family) is 800 km, so if there is a need for me to access this machine, I'll have to travel 1600 km. There is also the fact that the data is confidential, not that the friend or family cannot be trusted but it is not reasonable to leave that sort of data potentially available to anybody.
