Internet access control & monitoring for LAN & WLAN
Hi everybody!
I want to create a subnet for users with limited rights. Before using the network/Internet, each user should log using a web browser. (You probably know that from some Internet cafes etc). I want to monitor the traffic each user causes as well as the time a user is online.
I only have heard about wifidog and nocat, I have not yet tried them and both seem to be quite difficult to set up and I am not even sure if that really is what I need for that purpose.
I have no clue what hardware configuration would be best. I have a machine with several NICs acting as a router. I could install software on this machine or directly on a Linksys standalone router which I think would not be a good idea as memory for logs is quite limited on standalone devices.
Any clues, hints, ideas, suggestions are very welcome! Thanks in advance!
