internal modem problem with linux

hi all,
could anyone please help me...
i wish to use an internal modem from motorola with my linux os.
it works fine with my windows os...actually have dual boot system...
Linux detects the modem at boot but is unable to configure it...
I have also tried to configure it manually with many drivers available...but in vain...
please help,

Some internal modems(HCF, HSF, etc) are not supported in Linux. You may find a driver, though. My modem was a Conexant one and I found a driver at www.linuxant.com.

You haven't mentioned the model of you Motorola modem. Is it an SM56 PCI modem?
I suggest you visit www.linmodems.org for more information. You should also visit http://www.motorola.com/softmodem/data-fax.htm#linux.
