intermittent failure winPC connect internet thru ipmasq linux gateway
 

I have a windows box connected to a linux server on my home network using iptables to masq the ip address when connecting to the internet.

My problem is that although I can occasionally connect the windows box to the internet frequently I cannot, with messages (thru browser and when pinging destination) of 'timeout'.

The windows box is actually a dual-boot with linux and when I boot into linux I have no such problems accessing the internet. I'm thinking, then, that it must be something wrong with the configuration of windows??

I'm nothing of an expert on these matters and so could be overlooking something quite trivial.

I've looked at the various logs on the linux server but nothing seems to suggest a solution.

Any help would be really appreciated. I'll post my iptables rules if that'll help.
