Installing Linux over a network w/out floppy or Cd drive
Hi,
Firstly, i wasnt sure in which thread to put this, it could go in general, distro., or n00b, so mods. feel free to move it.... Anyway...... I am attemting to install linux on one of my junk machines. The problem is the CD drive is utterly busted, and there is not floppy. So, i'm thinking network install....unfortunatly, i dont have any idea how to do it without using a floppy or Cd drive. Is it possible? any ideas? any help would be wonderfull..... Thanks, -Hooloovoo |

kickstart. You gotta do some reading on it first.

Ok i understand that i need to boot remotely, and to do that i need to set up a server on my WinXP comp., it needs to support PXE and DHCP. Ok i think i can do that, there are a couple of programs out there to help....so ive got that part i think. What im having problems with, is that i dont really understand how to set up a boot file...so any help in that area would be great.
Thanx -hooloovoo |
