Any ideas? sendmail _is_ running, thouh i didn't touch it's conf at all, as I don't know how to use it (or even if the system is using sendmail to sniff for new incoming mail *shrug*
Uh - sendmail /usually/ runs, but doesn't necessarily recieve mail from external servers by default. First, check if "sendmail" is running. (If it's configured, it will always be running). Second, check the "sendmail.cf" configuration file, and see if there are any notes there that mention you need to manually configure any specific settings.
Assuming everything else is working - it still may not work... Why!? You need an MX DNS record to point to your IP, if you don't manage your own IP addresses this is hard to get. Also, your ISP may simply block all inbound port 25 traffic for you (to help prevent SPAM).
Basic test - "telnet IPADDRESS 25" - see if sendmail answers. You may have to go to a buddies house to test it through your own router.
