IBM Http service with ldap authentication
 

Hi,
I have the following problem: I installed RedHat Enterprise Linux ES 3 (Taroon Update 3), and then I installed WAS 5.1.1;
the IBMHttpServer doesn't start; here is what I find in the error_log:

/opt/IBMHttpServer/bin/httpd: relocation error: /opt/IBMHttpServer/bin/httpd: symbol __pthread_atfork, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libpthread.so.0 with link time reference

I have also configured SSO on my machine that allows all Windows domain users to login using the AD user credentials (simply saying :- Authentication is done through AD) but local users should also be able to login.

My /etc/nsswitch file entry is :-

passwd files ldap
group files ldap
shadow files ldap

I Googled out to find that, removing "ldap" entry from my nsswitch file will help. :-( --> Now that sucks!!
Is there any other way, my friends? :-)
Any entries in my /etc/ldap.conf file that can help ihs to work out.

Iam posting this, so that other those who are facing this probs can come to know abt this.

"" This is an issue seen with IHS 1.3.28.x on RedHat 3 Update 4/x86 and SLES 9/x86 caused by the vendor dropping some programming interfaces which were available in prior releases. IHS will continually try to fork new child processes but each fork will fail with these messages. As of 20050315 there is no permanent solution. A work-around is to avoid the use of LDAP in /etc/nsswitch.conf.

The issue is being tracked at RedHat with bug id 67074. The customer can check with RedHat on the status of that report. ""
