noting worked , i have tried my best , reading surfing the threads could not find a similar case of mine, dowloading scripts, still on the same place .
all the links you gaved to me are the one i am looking for it seems to me i am the problem i could not maneged it
i dowloaded the ip traf as shown in the how to then the cbq .init. the squid stopped and it wont start again .
what is happenig is that i am comfused i dont know where to fix the cbq . how to run it wiyh the squid .
so a hint is needed . and more detail how to install and run the system
and plz if it is possible that i can find a packedge with all what i need is preferable and i am ready to pay for that linux box

Hi
As the first I think you must re-install your Linux - if you're found of RedHat , do not use 7.0 - it is not the best choice - I've always heve problems with that version .
I thinnk the best ones are 7.1 and 7.3 on 2.4 kernels and 6.2 on 2.2 if you prefere .
As the second install the last Squid ( I guess you need a proxy server ) and read down accurately all the docs - maybe you don't need cbq or something else for your needs .
After that you can set an real IPaddrss and asking somebody to set your servers up if the time is money in your busines .
have a good luck

thx my friend
thx for the advise of using 7.1 or 7.3 i will try them i have both versions .
using squid yes shure is the most importent issue in my server it is minimising at least 40% from the trafic to the internet.
about the real ip i have 30 real ips and i am using one for the linux box .
for the cbq it is a need cause u cant controle incomming and out comming bandwith for each user independently .
so what i realy need is to shape and limit the download speed for the users for lets says 10 kbs instead to be open and be too mush trafic .
so thx my friend , and thx one more time in advanced for eny further help .
best regards elie j haddad

hi ellie,

logging as root , in ur shell plz type "whereis cbq" and tell me what msg u r getting .

if cbq is installed in ur machine ... u'll get:-

cbq: /sbin/cbq

if it is not installed ..... install it from ur linux 7.2 cd and let me know.

cbq is not that kinda tough...... ... after installing it do type "cbq start" or "cbq stop" ..... if cbq installed perfectly .... the command will be accepted .... if not .... it will say :-

command not found

plz let me know ... i'll give u details abt configuring CBQ. infact rite now i m playing with cbq
