I get "No web site is configured at this address."

I have a slackware box that is doing firewalling for me. It has the IP's of the public addresses mapped to my local IP's but, I get an error that says "No web site is configured at this address." This may happen on a few instances throughout the day. I have rebuilt my server that phsycially contains the website but, that doesnt help. I am running IPChains on this box. Any ideas?

Welcome to LQ.

What server are you using? From memory, that is actually an IIS error.

This is slack 7. the iis server that i have had it on was first 2000, then i moved it off to an NT 4.0 server and back to a freshly built 2000 server. it does it no matter what server i have it on. i am thinking that it is something in the ipchains but, i am not good with ipchains. and the guy who built it is kinda dead now so, i dont know what to do with it. all of the other websites on the same servers work fine. this one is the only site (www.herbalanswer.com) that has the problem. thanks for your reply. any help or ideas that you might have will be greatly appreciated. this has been a 2 month long problem and my hostee is a bit upset.

Can you just confirm that...
1) You have a slackware firewall.
2) You only have one webserver and it is running IIS.

I am running IIS on two servers.
Server 1 - NT 4.0 and hosts 1 website
Server 2 - Windows 2000 Server and hosts 2 websites
Server 2 is running 2 websites. they both have their own local IP assigned to them.
As I had said before, the other websites all work just fine, it is just this one. I hope that it is an IIS issue, that is easier to deal with many times for me.
Also, yes - this is a slackware firewall that I am running.

Which server is hosting the site with the problem?

Check the error logs on "every" server and you should see which one is being accessed. Make sure it is the one that is supposed to be hosting the site. If it is not then your forwarding rules are pointing to the wrong server, if you get an error on the server that is hosting the site then it sounds like a definate IIS problem.

I only have one server that is hosting the site. i have checked to make sure that it is taking only the assigned ip traffic and that the ip is assigned to that machine. i will go and look through the logs to see if there is anything there. i have not looked there in a few weeks.
