HP Jet Direct printing problems

This is a Gentoo PC.

I've read one thread after another and none of them seem to answer that question. for instance in a MS domain you can just connect a printer by typing \\\server name\print que and *boom* the drivers get downloaded and your printing. I have a OfficeJet printer with a Jet direct card. But I can't print to it.

Here is my /etc/cups/cupsd.conf

GNU nano 1.3.7 File: /etc/cups/cupsd.conf

ServerName GENESIS
ServerAdmin root@GENESIS

AccessLog /var/log/cups/access_log
ErrorLog /var/log/cups/error_log

# ServerName: the hostname of your server. By default CUPS will use the
# hostname of the system or the value of the CUPS_SERVER environment

#
# Encryption: whether or not to use encryption; this depends on having
# the OpenSSL library linked into the CUPS library.
#
# Possible values:
#
# Always - Always use encryption (SSL)
# Never - Never use encryption
# Required - Use TLS encryption upgrade
# IfRequested - Use encryption if the server requests it
#
# The default value is "IfRequested". This parameter can also be set
# using the CUPS_ENCRYPTION environment variable.
#
#Encryption Always
#Encryption Never
#Encryption Required
Encryption IfRequested

I was thinking of just setting the PC up for IP printing like I do with my wifes WinXP PC. When I do a test print it doesn't go. The print jobs just say processing.

I'd appreciate any assistance.
