You can run into some issues wgeb trying to do it all in a single LAN such as notknowing if it is working properly when you go to test it. You can however use adialup account and loop through the internet to your main LAN net connection.
now what type of VPN do you want to run there are many options, including PPTP, IPSEC, and L2TP. Each is different and some have advantages over others for different types of VPN setups. I.E. PPTP is good for single client to LAN vPN, nd IPSEC is better for LAN to LAN vPn.
