How to terminate connections in FIN_WAIT1 state ?

Hi all,

I have a question about how to reset the timeout for the connections in FIN_WAIT1 state?

I know that we can change timeout for connections in FIN_WAIT2 state by changing tcp_fin_timeout, but what about FIN_WAIT1 state ?

I have read in a thread that a connection timeout if it passes the maximum transimit retires, so is this correct , if yes how do I set this value ?

Thank you

I thought there wasn't a timer for the FIN-WAIT1 state?
