how to start NIS automatically?

Whenever I reboot my NIS server, I have to start NIS manually (and NFS as well).

I read in Howto's that I should be able to set it up to start automatically using the commands:

[root@nisserver]# chkconfig --add yppasswdd
[root@nisserver]# chkconfig --add ypserv

These commands complete without any errors, however, when I restart I still need to start the NIS daemons manually.

Hi keirobyn,

I had setup with no error,

just add this line in /etc/init.d/network file

about line no 9

#set the NIS domain name.
domainname <domain name>

and reboot ur system then check with this
just type this command,

domainname

Hitesh
