hello again all, have just installed mandrake 10, and need help setting up my internet connection. i am using a Motorola Surfboard 4200 modem, and it has to be set up using a USB connection, Ethernet is NOT an option. i am completly new to linux, and need all the help i can get. so all help would b gratefully appriciated. thanx in advance.

Cable Modem SB 4200!!! Not support in Linux. Motorola don't write Driver for Linux :-( It only work in Windows!

are u sayin that its impossible for me to use my modem in linux, or just connecting it using usb in linux?

hi, just logged into linux to c if i could get internet connection working, an guess what, it already was working! yay! dont know what i did to it, but sweet. and its through usb, so to whoever told my that it wouldnt work in linux, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, but thank u for trying to help me. think i is using CDCEther as the driver for it, but dont know if it will work 4 long period of time. have only had it running 4 30 min, and read something in a forum somewhere that it would crash after so long of being in use. not sure, will find out soon : ) thanx for the help so far everyone. no doubt will need more advice when i try to set something else up, so will spk to you all very soon!! bye
