How to set permissions fro RAM usage per user in SUSE 10?
hai all,
we have a client-server based architecture in our institute. The Server configuration is as follows: SunFire x2200 Dual core processor with 10GB RAM and 250 GB Hard disk SUSE 10 OS. Now the main problem is: There are number of users connecting to the server and working on it.But we want to restrict the RAM usage by each user to certain extent. Can some one please help me out in setting those restrictive usage of RAM? sky |
What you're looking for is 'ulimit'. If you use PAM you should have /etc/security/limits.conf or equivalent, with which you can set say RSS limits for users and groups, or you can set limits centrally from shell resource files using 'ulimit'.
