How to set network card Speed/duplex in Vector Linux?

Hi guys! A new

here.

I`m switching from Windows XP to Vector Linux and by Murphy`s Law, things do not go as smooth as expected

I have an ADSL internet connection, I ran adsl-setup, but the computer refuses to connect. I remember that when setting up Windows XP, I had to set the Speed/duplex setting to "Force 10 Half duplex" in order to get my internet connection to work, don`t know why, but only this brought it to life.
In Windows it is in this menu:
Network Connections - LAN properties - Configure - Advanced - Speed/duplex settings
I`ve searched through Vector Linux and cannot find these settings. I use X-windows.

Any ideas where I could find these settings in Linux?
Would be grateful for any advice, thanx

This might work: ethtool -s eth0 duplex half

I don't have any experience with Vector, so someone else will have to tell you how to make it stick (if it works).
