have you looked at sendmail - you probably have a sendmail (or similar) client.

you could use smbclient ( -M option ) to send popup messages to other clients!

Using Samba on Linux, we can do a net send to any windows host by using the following command:

smbclient -M [NETBIOS Name] -I [IP Address]

If we do not know the NETBIOS name of the system, we can use the following command to find out:

nmblookup -A [IP Address]

sir i have problem on finding the netbios name.
#nmblookup -A

this gives a mac-address not a netbios name.

the result is "00-00-00-00-00"this is my result.

and when i give #smbclient -M 00-00-00-00-00 -I

there is a unknown error ???

this more on this!!
