How to run a tftpd server as a daemon without using any of these (inetd or xinetd )

hello everybody,
I have a tftp daemon with me.
I want to run it manually,without using any of inetd or xinetd or anything else.
whenever i try to run it,the daemon dies immediately.
it gives following error message
"Error getpeername:socket operation on non socket".
how to solve this problem
