I still have some questions:
Is this working when the client uses a private IP(nated)?
Then on the ssh server, put the public ip and be sure that on the NAT device, there is a translation public ip->private ip and that the NAT device lets the esd protocol pass from ssh server to client(port 16001).
If you have no access on the NAT device, then you can use the port forwarding of ssh (ssh -L) and then everything would be tunneled in ssh (safer also)
Could I use a windows client?
Probably with cygwin esd yes. No clue for others, sorry I don't have windows. They have to be esd aware.
