How to join domain?

I just switched my 2000 domain to a win 2003 domain and when i try to join my Red Hat linux 9.0 box to the 2003 domain i get an error.
"error connectting to myservername- NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

I use #smbpasswd -j mydomain -r myservername -Uusername%password.

I have the same username and password on my 2003 domain controller. I can also run the same command above from my linux box and join a 2000 domain, but not a 2003 domain.

Can someone help me with this?

Thanks.

hi there.

perhaps samba is trying to authenticate with plain text passwords, which your win dc is denying?
or perhaps its the other way round?

otherwise - post some non-standard smb-config directives (those you changed within smb.conf)

Please check the documents describing this problems..
(i don't know where to find them, but google for Samba, XP (yes, this does the similar thing) and digitally signed channels...

change the registrykey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters\RequireSignOrSeal to DWORD:0

(IMHO thats your problem)
