How to get logs of different servers in Syslog Server's different directories?
Hello Friends,
I had setup a centralized Syslog Server in RHEL 5.3 and for now, just testing I tried it for only one client server, which is working fine. Means my centralized Syslog Server is getting logs from the client server.
Now what I want to do is that my centralized Syslog Server should get logs from all the client servers in Syslog Server's different directories.
And my all the client servers are also in RHEL 5.3
Please help me in this topic, I will be very greatful to you!

Satyaveer, send your supervisor an email and ask your client to review the RPM for syslog-ng. Odds are *very* good that your client will understand, and give you a detailed procedure on how to install the RPM (or they will do it for you).
For as far as I can tell, it's not available in the standard Red Hat repos. I did see some mention in the EPEL repositories or are those also against your company policy?
NB: Besides installing a package, you can also compile the open source edition on your own, put the generated binary syslog-ng at a sensible location, prepare a configuration and start it at boot time.
