how to get internet data usage in fedora ?

In windows,we can simply see time-to-time internet data usage directly from quick launch itself(network connections),so that we can have clear view of how much data we have used till that moment.
but how to get the same feature in Fedora 10(or in any linux based OS)

In todays competitive world day by day newer operating systems are coming out. The main reason behind this is the open source code. This venture has proved to be boon for many aspiring programmers. The amount of the internet used can be known in the Call Center Manager Windows during the usage. But in the fedora this feature is not there. In Windows, this feature is available as quick launch which makes it more accessible. This feature is a very important feature while using the internet.
