how to force windows stations to save on samba rather than localdrive

Hi,
I don't know if this is the right forum fot this

My users ussually save their documents on local drives on their machines, which give us a lot of trouble on backup and data loss.

Is there a way to force windows (win2K) stations to ONLY be able to save office documents (and maybe others) on a particular drive on Samba?

or any idea to accomplish a similar task? or solution to this problem?

I know if I had Linux workstations it wouldn't be hard, but not easy to change everyone arround here.

thanks

Manrique

On 2K/XP you can change the default locations in the registry under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\

change the values to match where you want them go. ( \\sambaserv\sharename\%USERNAME% )
