How to do PTCL broadband settings in redhat
 
any body if knows that How to do PTCL broadband settings in redhat please help me.
in windows i just do following
  1. Right Click “My Network Places” on desktop and select “Properties”
  2. Right Click “Local Area Connections” andselect Properties
  3. In the General Tab; double click on”Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” and made the following settings:

ip: 192.168.1.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.1
preffered dns: 203.135.0.70
alternate dns: 203.135.1.117

Hello,

I had to Google to find out what PTCL broadband settings mean :) Looks like you're just trying to set up a network interface in a LAN from the 'Windows' description. That can be done by editing /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-<yourinterface>. Here's some simple and straightforward explanation at this site.
