How to delete invalid network folders?

I have finally got samba running and configured after a lot of messing around with it. The problem now is that in Windows there are lots of invalid folders showing that I can't delete from within Windows. I guess this means I have to delete the folders from RedHat. Can someone please tell me how to do this please?

As root:
rm -rf /path/to/folder

I'm not sure how hey would be invalid. Are you sure the permissions are right?

when writing the smb.conf file I put the '/home/philip' instead of just '/philip' because I did not know the the [homes] tag lists it in the home directory anyway. I will give that a go btw, thx 4 the advice!

If you mean invalid shares then you will need to remove them from smb.conf
