How to connect to a Windows network using Samba ?


My office network workgroup is ITEDL27A, how to configure Samba so that I could connect to the network ?(window based .)

How much of the Samba side do you have configured? In other words, is Samba up and running on a Linux box?

I am sorry I an a newbie in Mandrake Linux. I believed Samba is running, but I am not sure if it's running on a Linux box .

Here is a simple, step by step setup for Samba. I used a similar how-to several years ago and got things up and running right away.

Also, make sure the user's accounts exist on both the Windows Workgroup and the Samba passwd file. This was required some time ago and it probably still is today.
