how to configure red hat linux on lan
 
i just wanted to know that i have a pc running windows xp and i share an internet connection on a LAN.i would like to install red hat linux 7.3.should i install linux as a workstation or as a server so that i can access internet on lan and what are the other things i need to know about setting up lan.

i'd say just as a server for the sake of it. it won't look or act any different, just have more programs installed. if you are looking at sharing the connection with the windoze box then eventually i'd strongly advise using linux as the server, but not till you are ok using linux and then it should be clear why it is nicer to serve with linux
