Using Fedora Core:6,X64 arc.

The ethernet card make is "Intel" & "SIS".

I need to check the default buffer size of both ethernet cards? So,please let me know where to check the buffer size of it in linux OS.

I have one path which is known by everyone. i.e.

Any suggesions?

Waiting.

ethernet buffer size

thanks for giving me answer , this is the system side buffer ineed NIC buffer details.
my self bhrugu and i am persuing my master in comp engg , associated with research work for the telecom company .

my topic is dealing with RTP packets which gives me moer interrupts and that reduce the performance of my server.
i have to enhance in NIC and kernel for the performance improvements
i am looking for changes in the ethernet driver e1000 parameters and the ultimate goal is to interrupt reduction in my system

i need to tune the coalescing parametere of the NIC dvice driver that ,if i get the buffer size then we can tune the no of packets in buufer persecond (n0 of interrupts generated should be tuned ).

so if buffersize is 86k for example then that much packets we receive and that many interrupts generated so the we can reduce interrrupt by collecting many packets and fired interrupts (coaelscing).

plz help me to find the NIC buffer size for the nvdia 56 driver with default driver forcedeth
