How to Chage from DHCP to static

Hi everyone,

I’m currently running Slack 9.1 and have a router that is DHCP enabled. The Slack box uses dhcpcd to obtain a IP address from the router. I want to use static routing instead of DHCP. Here are the things I need help with:

1. How to disable dhcpcd on the Slack box and assign the desired static IP address in its place.
2. How to make this happen automatically at boot

Thanks for your help
