How to add Interface monitor on taskbar?

Hi, I'm trying to add the same eth0 network monitor to my taskbar in gnome that my ICE GUI has. When I boot to the ICE GUI it has a nice eth0 utilization monitor running in the taskbar. When I put my mouse over it - it shows all types of information about my eth0 interface including uptime, rcvd/sent , etc. I managed to add a basic network monitor on my gnome GUI but it doesn't show any detailed info like the ICE GUI network monitor. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks

Which package did you install? I believe for gnome the applet is gnome-netstatus-applet. Or you could try gkrellm...

Hi, thanks for the reply! I'm not sure what package of gnome I installed since it was so long ago. It was just another GUI option I had chosen to install. I'll try and find that package. I'm thinking of just getting rid of this Load and trying the new Mandriva 2006 version. After putting Knoppix on a CD-ROM and booting that version up on my laptop I realized how much better it was then my Mandrake 9.0 load.

The Knoppix had everything I wanted including a version of Samba that was already up and working after having the machine get an IP from my router. Hell, it immediately saw my windows workgroup and was able to browse my windows network share without running all those commands (ie) smbclient //machine/share ETC... Much easier and worked without a hitch.. Guess that means it's time to ditch this old distribution.
