Hi Friends , I have installed Debian GNU/Linux 4.0, in my PC. But i am unable to access the broadband connection through this new distribution.Any one plz help me out to configure the network so that i can access the broadband. My PC is detecting the Ethernet card. and the information i have
Interface -wired Ethernet (eth0)
IP:-192.168.1.2
broadcast address:-192.168.1.205
subnet mask:255.255.255.0
default route-192.168.1.1
Primary DNS:-192.168.1.1
Secondary DNS:0.0.0.0
Connection Setting DHCP
Broadband is having userame and password...but where to give the username and password.plz help me out to configure the networking in Debian OS by step by step method.
Location: Danville, VA Approx. N 36°36.434' W 79°24.342' Accur. 100' or so.
Distribution: Slackware, Windows, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Mac OS X

Hi anupamjamatia, Welcome to lq. Here are a couple of links for you, link, link, basically you need to run pppoeconf and it should ask for the username and password.
