How do you support p2p programs (Kazaa, Blubster, etc) over Linux firewall?

I am using iptables on Slackware 9.1 to provide routing on my local network but I would like to allow users access to p2p programs. I am sure there is something specific I need to add to the configuration file in order to allow this. Any suggestions?

I use edonkey, all i did was allow port forwarding on the port(s) that it called for on my router. I didn't touch iptables.

I have a hardware firewall on my network and I got kazaa working by allowing inbound connections to the computer I use the P2P software on.

Kazaa will allow you to change the inbound port - I have mine accepting incoming conections on port 1446. Some software requires a range of 10 to 20 ports. The only drawback is that if you are using NAT and one cannot change the inbound port on which the software communicates, you can only route packets to one host.
