How do you restrict a nic's speed?

Hey, I'm running RH AS 3.0 on a DL360 G3.

For testing purposes, I need to throttle eth1's gigabit speed down to 100MBS.

I haven't been able to feel out a solution yet. Thanks for your help!

there are two tools that might be worth taking a look at:

ethtool
mii-tool

depending on your distro, drivers, hardware, etc.... you can usually get one of the two to work, take a look at the man pages for the apporiate switches for your version.

If possible you should try to force it to 100 from the switch. Some switches will run into negotiation problems when you try to force it from the nic.

Just something to watch out for :p
