how do i share a drive on my linux computer to install windows on another computer?
i want to share a (about 800MB) disk drive partition which has all the installation files in it for installing windows xp and i wanted to hook a wired internet cable between my computer that is sharing the disk drive and the computer i want to install windows xp on..
but i do not have an operating system on that computer. i hope this isnt something impossible to do.. there has to be some way..
or could i at least figure out how to access my other computers hard drive from the computer im using through an internet cable (while my other computer is at the bios screen or something) and fix the problem? i dont have a cdrom drive for my other computer and it will absolutely not boot from a usb flash drive there is no option to do so..
i wanted to try installing windows xp from a network boot? how would i do that? i have the windows xp installation files in a disk drive partition mounted but i dont know how to share the drive..
i have an internet cable hooked between our computers and both of the places where its plugged in have a little green light showing that its connected and my computer says it's connected to my other computer.. actually a laptop im using my desktop to connect to my laptop if that makes more sense.
im using ubuntu 12.04 if that makes a difference. sorry for such a large thread! i tried to provide as much detail as i can about what im trying to do. i currently have the internet cable hooked between my desktop and my laptop (the lights on both computers internet cable ports are green and sometimes rarely flicker with an additional yellow light)
and im using wireless to connect to our wireless internet router hooked to a modem connected to the internet because my desktop has wireless capability somehow.. i really need to install windows xp on my laptop from a network boot somehow.. what application do i need to share my disk drive through the wired internet cable?
again. sorry for large post. im new here this is my first post im only 14 years old so im not good with terminal windows or anything of the sorts.
i can install a package with a terminal but thats about it. what package would i need to install? im really dearly sorry if i posted in the wrong place ^^;;
