How do I configure wpa_supplicant.conf?

First of all, I get to connect using Ceni.
At this moment, I want to learn a little bit more about wireless.
So, I am at command line.

The command iwlist scanning shows:

wlan0 Scan completed :

ESSID:"home"

I tried some configurations and always there are errors like: "it is not possible to parse the wpa_supplicant.conf"

wpa_supplicant.conf:

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant

network={
ssid=home
proto=WPA
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
pairwise=CCMP
group=CCMP
psk=999999999999999999999999999999999999999
}

I have already read this site http://madwifi-project.org/wiki/UserDocs/HostAP

I have a little page on this, with a link to a much better page (by a gentleman named Mike) at
http://home.roadrunner.com/~computer...hwireless.html

(The page is a bit dated, written when the 5007EG, AKA AR242x didn't work as well as it usually does now, but the top section of the page, as well as Mike's article, might be of use.)

My error was that I did not create the directoy wpa_supplicant.
To solve this:

Quote:
mkdir /var/run/wpa_supplicant

wpa_supplicant.conf:

Quote:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
network={
ssid="my_network"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
psk=9caedfa3bec0c8c02420c1f5a15f9fbbafd996b9b61ac59e03a1c7f6a12453f6
}
