how do I communicate with Windows 2000
Hello
I have a hub at home serving two comps, mine with Debian and parent's with Windows on it. Windows comp. holds a number of files (most of which end in .doc) that I want to transfer over to Linux machine. Is there a way to share files between Windows 2000 and Debian Linux? And what software would be required for converting .doc into KDE readable format? Help is so much appreciated! |
samba lets linux share files and printers with windows. See www.samba.org for information.
OpenOffice is a suite similar to MS office that can open word documents. |
Thanks for your advice.
You saved me a lot of time and blank cds |
