try to mount your windows share to your linux filesystem:

mount -t smbfs -o username=username,password=passwd \\\\windowsbox\\share /mnt/winshare

then you'll be able to access that windows share by CDing into /mnt/winshare.

What version of Windows is it?

I noticed on my similar setup at home, that blank passwords will not work - if you are using one, try using an non void password.

Try creating another username and password and connecting with that.

Make sure that you don't have NTFS permissions that are conflicting with the share permissions.
