How can i monitor upload


i experience very poor internet conection,Due to upload.My service provider say so.They say because of virus and worms.I have got a linux machine on the gateway.Now is there any utility to find out which machine is uploading.Which shows up the host name or the IP address.

you can try "netstat" on the gateway, to see which machines are connected to it...should be able to deduce the trouble box from there. Also, tcpdump will dump packet headers to the console, so you can see which box is sending the most...
