Unhappy How 2 NICs with 2 Diff. Gateway Network Connection Possible

Hi,

Pl. help me to sort out the problem of connecting two subnets (with different Gateways (GWs))with one linux box with 2 NICs. i have the following scnrio;

1 linx PC with two NICs

(1)192.168.1.0 gw 192.168.0.1 connected with 1 subnet
(2)192.168.0.1 gw 192.168.1.0 connected with 2 subnet

The above 2 NICs are connected with 2 different subnet networks, sitting on (192.168.1.*)can't ping (192.168.0.*)network unless setting the Gateways (GWs)...the GWs of 2 subnet are different which are being used for internet browsing etc.etc.

Pl. let me know how to get these two different subnets with different GWs get connected witout any router...only vailable resource is the linux machine with 2 NICs.

Azam

this a bit of confusing subject. I have not done it myself but you should not define any gateways on either nic to start with. I found this one from a quick google search. Might help or at least get you finding addtional software.

There are a few devices that do this like the following.

Other Google searches. many more as well.
