hosts file reverses IP and hostnames

I am configuring RedHat 9.0. I loaded all the latest patches.

Now sometime, I have no idea what triggers it, the /etc/hots file
is corrupted by reversing the IP address and the hostname.

I have loade 3 different systems and all 3 show the same problem.

Does anyone have an idea what is going on.

Thanks for your help.

Mike
