Host name Problems

Thanx a lot for this site being a bible for troubleshooting.

I have a lan set up with both Linux systems as well as Windows98 systems. The hostnames I use for the linux systems are as follows station1.MySiteAddress.com.

I am unable to set such big names as the hostnames in the windows98 boxes.

This is resulting in a problem for setting the DNS server. So what alternative I can use?

edit your c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/host file
