high speed forwarding
 

I had a 2.4.3 kernel which was capable of taking packets in at 70Kpps and outputting at 70Kpps to another interface. I decided to upgrade to 2.6.9. Now there is a severe drop in forwarding speed to 20Kpps max. I have played with polling options, fast interface forwarding etc, to no avail.

I use the /proc/net/dev to collect the information about the incoming and outgoing packets numbers.

Any help would be greately appreciated.
