high performance computing cluster - child nodes speed test

Hello,

we have RHEL5 Cluster, 1 head node and 8 diskless child nodes, users noticed that the last node, node8, has a slower computing speed than all the other nodes.

"The cluster is used to compile fortran programs using MPICH2"

All the nodes are the same hardware, identical to each others, I have changed the network cable just in case if it was bad cable but that didn't help.

What tool(s) can we use to proof/test if the speed of any node is really different than other nodes in the cluster?

Thank you in advance
