Talking Here's one for you retro lovers ;)

Hey everybody!

I'm wondering of somebody could do me a HUGE favour?

I've found a good use of an old ( We're talking Pentium 60MHz (!!!) here) pc, BUT i did something stupid ( No, not using a pc of that age, something else) which would be too much hasle to start from scratch again. because i'm restricted to a HDD of 270 meg i didn't install and dev libraries (doh!) so.....

1: Does anybody know where i can lay my hands on a rpm of an ssh deamon ( i think it;s a deamon i need) for RED HAT 5.1????? not srpm's or tarballs. PRECOMPILED is the key

2: is it possible to have ip Masquerading on a kernel that dates as far back as 2.1.x(ish)

ta!

AFAIK there are no rpms for OpenSSH >= 2.5, and I strongly advise against running an old rpm of OpenSSH: that means running Ssh v-1 which is UNSAFE.

I ran a 2.2.19-Open Wall 5.2 box for as long as I could, but OpenSSH vulnerabilities (amongst other things) forced me to upgrade. I wasted time trying building a static rpm of OpenSSH but:
Code:
]$ ldd /usr/sbin/sshd
        libpam.so.0 => /lib/libpam.so.0 (0x40023000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x4002b000)
        libresolv.so.2 => /lib/libresolv.so.2 (0x4002f000)
        libutil.so.1 => /lib/libutil.so.1 (0x40041000)
        libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x40044000)
        libnsl.so.1 => /lib/libnsl.so.1 (0x40052000)
        libcrypto.so.1 => /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1 (0x40069000)
        libkrb5.so.3 => /usr/kerberos/lib/libkrb5.so.3 (0x40126000)
        libk5crypto.so.3 => /usr/kerberos/lib/libk5crypto.so.3 (0x4017e000)
        libcom_err.so.3 => /usr/kerberos/lib/libcom_err.so.3 (0x4018f000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/i686/libc.so.6 (0x40192000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)
meant *major* probs with Glibc, PAM and crypto.

If you gonna pursue this anyway be prepared that soon you'll call

Yeah, my first dabble with IP Masquarading was on kernel version 2.0.32 or 2.0.36.
