Help: Samba networking problems
 
I'm running suse 10.0 and my other computer (well my mums :P) is run xp home. i tryed to set up a network and everything is going good but, on the xp computer i can access the linux shared files. but, on linux i can't access the xp shared files. i get this error "Could not connect to host for smb://linda/"? any help would be nice.

Sounds like a firewall problem.
Go to Yast/Security and Users/Firewall/Allowed Services, select Internal Zone make sure Protect Firewall from Internal Zone is disabled. Make sure Internal zone is set to your right NIC. At the last resource, disable the firewall (rcSuSEfirewall2 stop).

May need to add an exception for the Windows firewall if it's SP2. Allow for file / print sharing.
