Help required for Squid

Hi
I am mentioning my problem. We are using a squid proxy server for providing internet connectivity to our users. The squid is configured to provide net access to a comp having a static ip address and squid proxy authentication user / password.

We want to restrict some of our users not to access the net as they are not permitted to do so. Since they have the valid static ip address and a common user/password, they can do this very easily. Because of the other data server's connectivity issue, we can't change their static ip class at this stage. They have to share the same ip range with other allowed users.

I have created txt files of allowed and not allowed ips. How it can be implemented using squid. Can any body help me.

To my understanding, if only 1 or 2 ips are there, they can be block giving independent ALCs. Since we are having around 40-50 such users, I need to use a file.

The files which I created containing the ip addresses such as 192.168.0.3/255.255.255.0

I am using Squid Cache: Version 2.5.STABLE12 on RH Linux 9.

Can any expert help me on this.

Early reply eagerly awaited ...

shekar,
you can get the info ,you needed to setup your squid here. It provides a wide variety of acl and allow/deny lists.
