help on YUM


hello everybody,

How to use YUM tool in linux and also how to edit its configuration file and repos .please give some information on repos config files.


And also

while iam using wget command at the prompt , it shows me a error like , the "host addr cannot resolved" .when i am trying the nslookup and dig it shows me like this


[root@localhost /]# nslookup www.google.com
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

in my /etc/resolv.conf

i have "search" word is showed at this file.

what should i do..........
Is there any thing to edit that file.

Actually iam trying to configure the open vpn ... so these things are necessary for me to do further .......
can anybody help me Please!............

sounds like you have no nameservers listed in /etc/resolv.conf. can't do dns lookups without a dns server to talk to. normally this would be a local adsl router for example.
