Help on Hearbeat

Hi guys, I've already spent my whole day trying to set a A Basic Single IP Address Configuration for Failover Cluster using heartbeat. I have two nodes (NodeA and NodeB) and a Service Address:

NodeA = 192.168.1.51
NodeB = 192.168.1.52

and

Service Address = 192.168.1.53

I just followed the steps in linux-ha.org but I still don't get it. And it still bothering that the heartbeat is not starting when I issue the command "service heartbeat start" and I always get this:

logdis already running
Starting High-Availability services: [FAILED]

How would I know if its already staring/working?

What series of test/s to know if my configuration is correct?

Thanks guys.

I'm not familiar with hearbeat, but some information that may be helpful to you.

Check the logs (/var/log/messages)
Not sure if heartbeat creates it's own logs, might want to check that out.

Normally it will put more information in the logs. I found an excerpt where someone else was having a problem, and their log entry had

Code:
heartbeat[7642]: 2006/06/29_09:54:22 ERROR: Heartbeat not started:
configuration error.
Not saying you have the same problem, but normally there is more in there.
Any more information you can provide would be helpful.
